As grandkids are getting ready for their back to school debut, we grandparents know that schedules are getting busier and we want to cheer them on! During these busier than normal times, I like to return to the tried and true connection method of snail mail. So we’ve scoured the internet and rounded up 11 back to school cards we know you’ll love sending and they’ll love receiving.

Personalized Back to School Cards

These first card options are great for customization!

As you can imagine, customized cards are a little higher price point, but they definitely carry that extra special touch.

1. Good Luck Going Back to School Card – Etsy

How cute! I find myself tempted by this one just for the fact that I can picture my granddaughter’s smile when she sees her own name on a card!

As with most customized card options just remember that customization and shipping take additional time. Plan accordingly!

2. Too Cool for School Card – Etsy

3. Pencils Card – Zazzle

I find this pencil card from Zazzle so cute!

It’s blank inside, has three different size options, and comes with a matching envelope.

Zazzle usually has sales or coupons you can find online with a simple google search for an additional discount.

4. Hands Holding Back to School Sign Card – Zazzle

5. Happy First Day of School – Etsy

This cute crayon-themed back to school card can be purchased as a single card or in packs of 8 or 10.

If you purchase the pack of ten it comes down to about $2 per card so it’s a great option if you have more than one grandkid to send a card to.

For the Grandparent of Many School-Age Grandchildren

If you have a handful or more grandchildren returning to school this Fall then ordering customized cards or making cards from scratch may be too much time or money.

Don’t worry, you can still get in on the fun!

These next cards are perfect for the grandparent who wants to order multiple cards without losing that personal touch.

9. You’re One Smart Cookie – Etsy Digital Download

Digital Downloads are a great option whether you are a grandparent of two or twelve.

When you see an option that is a printable or digital download it means you can print as many as you’d like.

This specific download (linked above) I personally love because it comes with snacks!

If you have a small snack or individually wrapped cookie you could easily add that in with this card and write a note on the back.

What a fun surprise for your grandkids!

10. Back to School Scratch Off Cards – Pack of 22, Target

This pack of 22 scratch-off cards are super fun!

There is space for your own note on the back and each card has a hidden message your grandchild will love to scratch off and discover.

Target markets these little notes as lunch box cards but we think they could be great for grandkids to receive anytime, anywhere.

11. Notes from Grandma Cards – Oriental Trading

There are 48 cards in this pack for 6.99!

I love that it’s a variety pack so you could send one to each of your grandkids in the Fall and then at multiple points throughout the school year as fun pick-me-ups.

They are marketed towards teachers, but after looking at them, I think you’ll agree that they are perfect for grandparents too.
