Hippity Hoppity! Easter’s On Its Way! And we are sharing 5 Simple Easter Egg Activities to use as you connect with your grandkids this year.

My daughter is part of a farming family, and springtime is super busy for them. We are also both actively involved in our local churches, so that brings its own Easter schedule.

Add any extras like spring sports, and there isn’t a lot of time left for extra connecting.

For that reason, we’ve gathered these simple Easter Egg Activities that we will definitely be using, and want to share them with you.

1.For the Egg Hunt – Challenge/Action Eggs

Place some fun action ideas into the plastic eggs used in your traditional egg hunt. (And remember egg hunts can happen on days other than Easter!)

After all the eggs are found, gather together and one at a time open your eggs, then perform the action listed on the paper that’s been placed inside.

Here are some actions to get you started:

and so many more possibilities.

If your grandkid is a bit hesitant -you might offer to do the action with them!

Virtual option – write the challenges/actions on paper eggs (or use plastic eggs) and place them in a basket. Then while connecting virtually, you can pull eggs out and read each person’s challenge out loud.

2. Carrot Tops

While this isn’t quite an Easter Egg Activity, the ‘hunt’ is the same. Print out, cut out, and then send some carrots to hide around the house.  (It’s ok to let those green tops stick out of hiding places for the little ones to find!)  This one is going to be a hit!

3. Foil Eggs

How have I missed this idea?  Cut an egg shape out of cardboard, then wrap it with foil.

Kids can draw their design with a stylus if they like, and then trace it with sharpies. Or just let the creativity flow from the beginning.  The sharpies are so vivid on the foil! My crafty granddaughter is sure to love this!

4. Paper Eggs

Use the template below to cut out egg shapes from colorful paper. Kids can decorate them if they choose.

Then stack the shapes up, staple in the middle, and fold papers in half – it’s an easter egg extravaganza!

You could tuck these cute eggs in a basket, or hole-punch the top and hang them individually. You could also string them together to make an Easter Egg garland. They are such a colorful way to celebrate!

5.Tissue Paper Eggs

This will be my go-to craft for my 3-year-old granddaughter.  She’s not old enough to tackle anything to involved yet, but she LOVES glue and tape.

I’ll provide an egg shaped template using card stock. I may not even make a design on it.  She can add glue and the prepared (cut up) tissue paper. It’s sure to be a hit!

Gather, Prep & Mail

These Easter egg activities are super affordable options. So my plan is to gather the supplies for each of the activities and crafts, and get an Easter Kit in the mail ASAP, along with one of the Easter Pen Pal Templates from our Easter line in the Etsy shop!

Then, when we are able to connect virtually, we can decide which one to try first.

I just know they will be hopping with excitement!
