Here are a few easy ways to use them:
Simply tell them the jokes in a phone conversation in the days leading up to Valentine’s Day.
Cut out paper hearts, and fold them in half like a card. Write the question portion of the joke on the folded half of the heart, then open it up for the answer.
Text them. My grandkids and I often share a GIF with a little message to each other before their school day begins. I can see sending a little GIF along with the joke. They are going to love it!
Valentine’s Books
Reading together is always special. If you are looking for some great Valentine’s books for your grandkids these are great picks! There are lots of fun to read together this month, even if you are celebrating from a distance.
- Check out Valentine books from your local library, then set a time to zoom or FaceTime and read to your grandchild.
- Google the title of the book. You may find it on YouTube, where you can both listen to someone read it out loud.
- Purchase a copy, and have it sent to their home. Have a video connection on a device that allows you to see the text. They can hold the book while you read to them. Or older grandkids can read to you. If they aren’t readers yet, they may have just as much fun making up their own text as they look at the pictures.
- I’ll be ordering this book for my littlest who is almost 9 months old. She is really beginning to be social during our FaceTime moments and it is so much fun! I’m having the book sent to my house so I can read it to her when we videochat. It has a little finger puppet baby bear to help tell the story. I think she will love it!
