Sweet Messages

Here are a few of my favorites:

Valentine’s Jokes

My grandkids are just getting into the joke-telling age. And yes, some of their jokes make no sense at all, but they are so proud, I have to laugh.  I think they’ll enjoy hearing and then telling these Valentine’s jokes to friends and family.

Here are a few jokes to get you started:

What did the calculator say to the pencil on Valentine’s Day? You can count on me!

What do you call a very small Valentine? A valen-tiny.

What did the stamp say to the envelope on Valentine’s Day? I’m stuck on you!

What did the cat say on Valentine’s Day? You’re purr-fect for me!

Knock, knock! Who’s there? Howard; Howard who? Howard you like a bouquet on Valentine’s Day?

Here are a few easy ways to use them:

Simply tell them the jokes in a phone conversation in the days leading up to Valentine’s Day.

Cut out paper hearts, and fold them in half like a card. Write the question portion of the joke on the folded half of the heart, then open it up for the answer.

Text them. My grandkids and I often share a GIF with a little message to each other before their school day begins. I can see sending a little GIF along with the joke. They are going to love it!

Valentine’s Books

Reading together is always special. If you are looking for some great Valentine’s books for your grandkids these are great picks!  There are lots of fun to read together this month, even if you are celebrating from a distance.

Activity Books for Valentine’s Day

Sticker by Number books are so popular right now!  Here’s a Valentine’s themed one you might want to check out.

My middle granddaughter, who is 4, can spend a ton of time ‘spotting things’. The Where’s Bluey book I purchased for Christmas has been looked at more times than can be counted already!

She also loves highlighters, so you can imagine my excitement when I saw this Highlights option for Valentines day. They will have fun showing me their work when we FaceTime!

Whatever you choose, sending heartfelt Valentine’s Day wishes to grandchildren will fill their day with the special love that only a grandmother can give!
