We love Fall. We’re not ashamed to admit that we are fans of all things pumpkin, sweater weather, and the new beginnings that come with this time of year – including fun seasonal ways to connect with our grandkids!
Today we can’t wait to share a few Fall ideas with you – ideas that we’ll be using for sure! You could definitely use them all at one time and host a fun Fall event – either in person or virtually.
You could also spread them out and just use them one at a time over the next month or so. These are perfect for October through November.

Host a Fall “Tea”
My granddaughter loves (did I say LOVES?) tea parties. So I’m planning one with a Fall twist. I’ll be sending out a little invite, we’ll be sipping on apple cider, and either decorating (or purchasing – depending on our schedules) some Fall shaped cookies. I’ll also have some crayons and Fall printables that we can leisurely color while we chat.
Snuggle Up and Read
This story is perfect leading up to Halloween! “The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything, by Linda D. Williams. Publishers Weekly describes this book as a “just-spooky-enough tale, where an old lady puts to good use some animated objects that are trying to frighten her.”

Craft a Scarecrow
In keeping with the theme of the book, create your own scarecrow using the template provided below. You could use plain paper to print the outlines on and your grandkids can create their own scarecrow fashion, use colored or scrapbook patterned paper, or cut pieces out of felt. This is a great Fall snail mail idea!
Scare a Crow
Print out the crow templates from below. Place them at random distances on the floor, then using a beanbag or rolled-up sock, scare the crows away by landing the beanbag on them. To add some competition you could assign points to each crow based on size and difficulty. This is another great idea to print and send!
